Just Housing staff in hard hats

Just Housing Seeks a Design and Instruction Technician

We are a small group of creatives who focus on better housing, building science and collaboration for social benefit. We design homes and deliver workforce training that’s good for people and good for the planet. We are driven by purpose, not profit.

Many of our clients are nonprofits or institutions serving disadvantaged communities. We are working with UNIDOS-MN in Minneapolis, Divine Konnections in Duluth and also with the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa.

The work at Just Housing is growing and we must grow to meet the opportunity. Growing requires nourishment, rest and sunlight – we approach the development of our employees and our company with these things in mind.

We’re looking for a systems-thinker who is curious, detail-oriented, technically proficient and methodical. This multi-skilled person will participate in both design/drafting and workforce training activities. Proficiency in AutoCAD and experience with residential carpentry/construction is required.

The position is full-time, in person at our Duluth office, with potential to work from home at times. Some regional travel may be required. Hourly wage dependent upon experience. We offer flexible schedules, PTO and health insurance benefits. We are an equal opportunity employer.

We value personal experience as much as professional experience. Our staff have excellent technical and creative abilities matched by their compassion and empathy for each other and the communities we serve.
